The Food Psychology Clinic uses a range of techniques to help you to make permanent changes.
The majority of clients are able to completely resolve their issues around food after 3 sessions. The recommended initial treatment course is one 90-minute session, followed-up with two 60-minute sessions, spaced 2-3 weeks apart. Some clients prefer to have more support as they change their relationship with food and longer term (more regular) treatment is also an option, for this 10 weekly or fortnightly 60-minute sessions are recommended.
The Food Psychology Clinic’s approach is different to any other hypnotherapist/psychotherapist/nutritionist out there because we won’t just recommend:
- that you eat less and exercise more if you want to lose weight - we know that you already know that you need to eat less and exercise more, in fact, our approach is one which encourages you to enjoy food and to make changes to your lifestyle which won’t leave you feeling miserable and deprived
-that you just take peppermint capsules if you have IBS - we understand the complex range of physiological and psychological factors that cause this condition
- that you are force fed if you are an anorexic or orthorexic, we know what drives you to develop these conditions and know also how to set you free from their trap
- that you suddenly cut out lots of food groups if you want to get healthy - we understand that this approach is only ever effective short-term and will not help you to achieve your health goals.
Sound nutrition advice
Psychotherapy and hypnotherapy
We have done years of research into what drives people to over-eat or adopt disordered eating habits and we understand both the psychology of these patterns as well as which nutritional changes are optimum for achieving lasting results. Most therapists don’t understand nutrition and most nutritionists don’t understand psychology - but we bring you the best information from a range of different techniques that you won’t find elsewhere.
The Food Psychology Clinic wants to help you to make permanent changes and the only way to permanently change how you eat is to look at WHY you eat the way you do.
Imagine waking up knowing that you never have to worry about dieting, erratic eating patterns, IBS or making bad food choices ever again - that you can just be free to enjoy nutritious, delicious food that is good for your body. How much more free time would you have
- now that you do not need to worry about which diet you are going to start “tomorrow”;
- now that you don’t need to obsess over starving yourself, just to binge eat at the end of the day;
- now that you naturally want to make healthy choices;
- now that you don’t get that horrible bloating and upset stomach every time you eat;
An interdisciplinary approach
Resolving the root cause
Providing a long-term solution
People’s issues with food come in all shapes and sizes. Yet there is one thing that these issues all have in common - there is some psychological pattern driving them - causing you to repeat the same cycle over and over again. The Food Psychology Clinic understand what drives these repetitive and destructive patterns - and can help you to reverse the unhealthy habits of a lifetime - for good.
Reversing unhealthy patterns - freeing you to lead a happy and healthy life.
Meet the founder of The Food Psychology Clinic.
The Food Psychology Clinic was founded by Uxshely Carcamo. Uxshely founded the clinic to enable her clients to get to the root cause of their issues around food. In a sector dominated by fads and quick fixes, Uxshely wanted to adopt a scientific approach to resolving food issues that would enable her clients to achieve permanent change.
After graduating with a first from Oxford University and spending some time working as a corporate lawyer, Uxshely decided to re-train in a range of disciplines which would allow her to enhance the health of others both physically and mentally, including: psychotherapy, biomedicine, hypnotherapy, public health nutrition, meditation and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Uxshely now combines several of these techniques and disciplines to help her clients to optimise their nutritional choices, deal with their eating disorders, break free of the vicious dieting cycle and to feel great about themselves and their bodies.
